Sled dog tours
For the 2025–2026 season, we offer two of our most popular husky safari options – Konijänkkä 10 and Konijänkkä 5.
KONIJÄNKKÄ 10
6-10 km trail
35-50 min driving time
~1 h 30 min total duration
The activity includes an initial briefing and driving instructions, the sled ride along the route, a photo moment with the dogs, plenty of cuddles and scratches, as well as time to chat and learn more about sled dogs in Lapland. At the end of the tour, we enjoy cookies and a cup of hot drink while sitting by open, crackling fire.
KONIJÄNKKÄ 5
4-5 km trail
20-35 min driving time
~ 1 h total duration
The activity includes an initial briefing and driving instructions, driving the sled along the route, taking photos with the dogs, plenty of cuddles and scratches, as well as time to chat and learn more about life with sled dogs in the North.
Suitable for who?
Our sled dog tours are suitable for most groups, from families with children to adults. For safety reasons, the person driving the sled must be at least 18 years old. Minors are warmly welcome to enjoy the ride seated comfortably in the sled.
What is the exact duration?
The exact duration of the ride time may vary depending on weather conditions – extremely cold, warm, or too soft snow conditions may affect the length of our tours to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both, our dogs and guests.

Husky safaris in a nutshell
A husky safari is a guided sled dog experience where you travel through snowy Lapland along prepared trails with a team of huskies pulling the sled. Each sled is shared by two people – a driver and a passenger.
Yes, all participants aged 18 or over can drive the sled.
Our guide will pick you up from the reception lobby of Jänkä Resort’s main building. Please arrive about 5 minutes before the activity begins.
We recommend warm, weather-appropriate winter clothing. Dressing in layers and wearing proper winter shoes is key, and it’s important to protect your neck and cheeks from the cold wind. UV-protected eyewear is recommended during sunny periods.
Yes, all adult participants have the opportunity to try driving the sled during the safari.
The wellbeing of our dogs and the sustainability of our operations are at the heart of everything we do. Safaris are always planned according to the dogs’ endurance and weather conditions – working days are kept moderate, and each dog has two days off per week. Their fitness, health, and recovery are monitored daily to ensure a happy and eager team on every safari.
